FootJoys - Dryjoy Casuals

Simply Comfortable

By David Theoret

FootJoy recently launched what I consider to be the most comfortable golf show I have ever worn - the Dryjoy Casual. In the words of Mike Foley, Director of Product Management, FJ Footwear, "FootJoy has created a category of shoes that are luxuriously soft and comfortable but perform like nimble, high-end athletic footwear." Perhaps that's why tour professional Hunter Mahan wears them; the fact that they look good too doesn't hurt!

The new Dryjoy Casuals offer a softer, more breathable leather upper. This gives the shoe a very professional look and feel. FootJoy continues its long association with renowned leather experts Pittard's of London, who provide the Supersoft Extreme Comfort Leather (ECL) and a proprietary membrane-free waterproofing system to help to keep these shoes ultra-soft no matter the playing conditions.

The Dryjoy Casuals use a new polymer outsole material called Fine-Tuned Foam (FTF) which is 10% lighter and gives the shoe supple cushioning and shock absorption for added comfort. The DJ Casuals have two distinct layers of FTF.

The grip and stability in these shoes is amazing. The Dryjoy Casuals feature something called TPU (short for thermoplastic polyurethane traction strips). These TPUs are embedded into the outsole of the shoe to help boost traction and lateral stability during the swing and help make the Dryjoy Casual the most performance-driven spikeless midsole/outsole component ever offered by FootJoy.
The Dryjoy Casual shoes are available for men in medium half sizes 7 thru 12 and 13, 14. Wide widths are also available in half sizes 8 thru 12 and 13.

The market for the Dryjoy Casuals is golfers who are looking for a softer, more versatile spikeless golf shoe that can be worn on and off the course. Whether you are on the green or in the grill room, these spikeless shoes will provide you with supple support and extreme comfort. Dryjoy Casuals are available in many course pro shops as well as the major golf wholesalers and retailers and retail for $149.99. For more information on these shoes as well as all other FootJoy models, please visit the website at www.footjoy.com.

About: David Theoret

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
