Ogio Golf Apparel Review

Since 1987, OGIO International, Inc. has been designing and manufacturing backpacks and various travel luggage as well as men's and women's golf bags. The company was founded in 1987 in Bluffdale, Utah by Mike Pratt, a self-proclaimed thrill-seeker and frustrated inventor who needed an outlet for his ideas. His first innovation was a sport bag designed to work like a locker. It was a simple concept, yet showed some outside-the-box thinking for an industry reluctant to change.

Fortunately for Pratt, Nordstrom bought into him and his vision and the company was born. It wasn't until the founder and his new design team brought about serious change in such niche "X Game" categories as motocross, snowboarding, golf, skateboarding, and surfing. Nowadays, OGIO sponsors some of the world's finest extreme sports athletes, all of whom choose to use OGIO gear. They include the likes of Travis Pastrana, Eric Koston, and Bob Burnquist.

A few years ago, Ogio decided to enter the highly competitive world of golf apparel. They played off of their X Game expertise and offered clothing with a unique look and spoke to a certain lifestyle. Clothing that can be worn to the course, to the office or out on the town.

To see for yourself, take a look at the Men's Knockdown Flat Front Pants. These lightweight pants are made from a performance stretch woven fabric (94% polyester, 6% spandex) which allows you to play in comfort without any annoying pinching or binding. The gel grip waistband sees to it that your shirt stays tucked in. The back pockets are big enough for any scorecard or yardage book and the slanted belt loops give these pants a unique look. The wide belt loop in back features an embroidered OGIO logo; while the hem at the bottom incorporates a 1" notch, ensuring a classy look over any type of golf shoe. They are easy to care for too; simply machine wash and tumble dry. No ironing required. The fit is right on; I typically wear a 38 waist and it fits true to size, leaving ample room to comfortably complete a golf swing.

The men's Honeycomb Print Polo combines performance and style. These solid color polos are constructed from a lightweight, 100% polyester fabric which stretches, giving you the optimal range of motion when you swing the club. The arms have an even hem with vented sides for added flexibility yet a tailored fit. The Honeycomb print polo features a textured honeycomb pattern with contrasting trim, an anti-roll constructed collar and a four-button placket. The moisture-wicking fabric keeps you dry while the UV sun protection and anti-microbial odor control keeps your body odor in check. The familiar O logo is embroidered in a contrasting color on the back yoke. It too is easy to car for; just machine wash and tumble dry.

My Ogio Golf Groove Shorts are a bright blue and white plaid with a thin neon yellow stripe running through the pattern. This classic "fashion forward" print is made from the same lightweight, performance woven material (94% polyester, 6% spandex) as the pants so you can keep your cool on those hot days. The Ogio Groove Shorts are easy to care for and never need ironing. Two front pockets, two rear pockets - all with custom lining - and a small phone/media pocket on the right leg. The gripper gel waistband will keep your shirt tucked in no matter how flustered you get. Wide belt loops accommodate most belts and the Ogio "O" logo is embroidered on the extra wide back loop. The shorts fit true to size and have an 11" inseam. They are available in Indigo/Chrome or White/Slate. These shorts are cool (in more ways than one) and will get you noticed on the course.
