This Ain't Your Grandfather's Golf Apparel

By David Theoret

For the most part golf apparel is uninspiring; basically it's hard to tell the designers apart without looking at the label or logo. Perhaps that's why brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren are making their logos bigger. At least that's the way Tattoo Golf's co-owner Bill Anderson and Greg Shaw saw it.

While a skull and crossbones may not be your idea of a classic golf logo, it definitely gets your attention. Actually, the logo is quite unique; the top part of the skull resembles a golf ball and the crossbones are actually crossed golf clubs. Their apparel is unique as well.

For example, take a look at their Skulls and Stripes golf polo. At first glance, it kind of looks like a rugby shirt with the wide stripes and all. But upon closer examination, these stripes are made up of tiny skulls of different shapes and sizes. Very cool. The Fade Collection of golf shirts is available in several colors with stripes that get wider as they go down the shirt and the sleeves and collars done in a contrasting (OK black) color with a Tattoo Golf Logo on the left breast.

Don't quite have your fill of skulls yet? There's the OB line available in different colors that will give you all the skulls you can handle, as well as the Green and Blue Monster polos which have an argyle meets logo flair to them. And in case your luck has turned all bad, consider the Lucky 13 line in several neon colors that ensure everyone on the course will know your plight.

Lastly, there is Mr. Bones, the grim reaper of golf (my words, not theirs). Mr. Bones is a skeletal creation clad in golf knickers and holding the pin.

Tattoo Golf's men's polo shirts are designed with today's golfer in mind. Every polo is available in different styles, fabrics and colors to fit your style on & off the course. The Tattoo Golf poly-tec polo features a microfiber knit fabric that wicks away moisture that keeps you feeling cool all day long.

Tattoo golf also makes golf shorts that are available in three different colors: tan, charcoal and of course, black. Golf Shorts are new to Tattoo Golf's clothing line-up! They are made from a 60/40 cotton/poly blend, fit true to size and are really comfortable; no pinching or binding during your golf swing. Tattoo Golf shorts feature an 11 3/4 inch inseam with waist sizes from 30 - 40. They pair well with one of the Tattoo Golf's performance polos.

In addition to apparel, Tattoo Golf also carries a full line of golf accessories including divot tools, ball markers, logoed headwear and gloves for both men and women. You can check out the entire line of Tattoo Golf apparel at their website, www.tattoogolf.com.

About: David Theoret

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
