TWO MAJORS. TWO WINS. Congrats to Jordan Spieth, 2015 Masters and U.S. Open Champion.

Under Armour 2015 Golf Collection Review

Making Its Mark at the Masters

By David Theoret

If it hasn't already, Jordan Spieth's victory at the 2015 Masters Championship will do wonders for Under Armour' sales. As a matter of fact, I played in a tournament the other day and happened to be wearing the same UA polo that Jordan wore on Sunday. Several people went out of their way to ask me if that is the same shirt Jordan Spieth was wearing the other day."

This can only be good news for Under Armour, a company originally created to make under garments more comfortable by wicking moisture away from the body. The company has come a long way since that time. In January of last year, Under Armour signed a 10-year deal with the University of Notre Dame to provide uniforms and athletic equipment for the university. The agreement went into effect July 1, 2014 and at the time was the largest contract of its kind in the history of college athletics.

Under Armour makes a lot more than just under garments and golf polos. Spieth, who has undeniably become the poster child for UA - and rightfully so - could be seen sporting the garment manufacturer's hats, pants, belts, sunglasses and shoes. Let's take a closer look at some of Under Armour's golf apparel.

UA ArmourVent Polo - Jordan Spieth's Sunday at the Masters shirt is available in sizes SM - XXL and comes in three colors- Blue Jet, Graphite and Academy. The soft knit mesh fabric that makes up the back panel helps golfers handle the worst heat and is mapped to the places you need it most. The ArmourVent mesh back also delivers true breathability in a light, stretchy, durable, fast-drying fabric. The Moisture Wick Transport System - UA's signature sweat wicking technology - pushes sweat away from your body to the surface of your gear so it dries faster. Throw in an anti-odor technology that prevents the growth of odor causing microbes and you're bound to come out smelling like a rose. And I don't mean Justin! The bonded button holes give this polo added durability and prevent fraying. The shirt has somewhat of a performance fit, meaning it doesn't look baggy. The Under Armour ArmourVent polo retails for $79.99.

UA Punch Shot Shorts - These are the most breathable golf shorts Under Armour has ever made. The fabric is engineered with breathable air holes that are so small you can hardly see them. The Punch Shot Shorts feature a performance elastic waistband, giving them added stretch and mobility. The flat-front design features two pockets in the front and two in the back with the back right one being a phone/media pocket. The UA logo is embroidered just below the left pocket. Punch Shot Shorts have an 11" inseam and are available in waist sizes 30 -42" and in three colors: Steel, Academy and Graphite. The Punch Shot Shorts sell for $69.99.

Under Armour Playoff Polo - available in 18 colors/styles including both solids and stripes in sizes SM - 3XL. These polos are more than a shirt with a collar: performance is in their DNA. The soft anti-pick, anti-pill fabric has a cleaner, snag-free finish and its 4-way stretch fabrication allows for greater mobility in any direction. Under Armour's proprietary Moisture Transport System wicks sweat away from the body and dries fast and their anti-odor technology prevents the growth of odor causing microbes. A 30+ UPF rating protects your skin from the sun's harmful rays. The Playoff Polo has a retail price of $64.99.

These are just a few selections from the 2015 Under Armour Spring Collection of golf apparel. For more information on these and other products from Under Armour, you can visit their website at www.underarmour.com.

For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher.
