Aveo Men's Big and Tall Golf Apparel

Aveo Men's Big and Tall Golf Apparel

Play Fearlessly.

By David Theoret

If you fit into the big and tall category, you know how tough it can be to find apparel that looks good, fits well and is comfortable to wear. Now, break it down to a particular apparel niche such as golf and the pickings get mighty slim. This dilemna could only be fixed one way - OK, make it two. Two big and tall golfers that is. And that's how Aveo was born.

Aveo is a four-year-old company founded by, Darius Hicks and Randy Peaches; two big and tall golfers who look like they could be playing linebacker for your favorite NFL Team. Their goal is to help other big guys feel confident and empowered both on and off the course.

While most big and tall clothiers simply expand the waistband to accommodate larger fellows, Aveo realizes that it's not just about the waistline. Big and tall men may make up the size differential with longer torsos, larger thighs, a broader back, or wider shoulders. Aveo is designed to handle all of that while still fitting and looking good.

This past February, Aveo debuted its line of men's tops and bottoms - both shorts and pants. The fabric is a blend polyester and rayon, which provides the perfect drape for a larger frame. The fabric has all the necessary performance attributes yet remains durable, flexible and soft to the touch. Both the shorts and pants have more room for the thighs - i.e. stronger legs and the pants have less taper than what is typically found in menswear shops. Less taper also produces a slimming effect, especially in a side view. Aveo's comfort flex waistband provides about two inches of extra waist room, perfect for the after round buffet. The design of their flat front pants minimizes "pocket flare" and stretch lines; two reasons many big and tall men shy away from wearing flat front pants. Aveo has also elongated the rise in their pants and shorts to allow even more room to get comfortably through the golf swing. Aveo's golf trousers are available in 40-44" waist sizes with 32-36"inseams. Available colors are Khaki, Black and Blue.

The Aveo Hero Short Sleeve Polo gives a new meaning and definition to big and tall golf style. The high performance polyester/bamboo blended fabric is highly breathable and moves with you through every phase of the golf swing. It's extremely light and enables you to easily wear a tee shirt underneath if you so choose. The bamboo fiber that is infused into the fabric also adds durability and strength to the garment and makes it ultrasoft to the touch. Aveo has gone the extra mile with their Breathe-Rite mesh panels, which are tucked under the armpits and extend down the side, providing all the fresh air a golfer will need. The slight color contrast of these panels adds a nice touch as well. The Hero Polo is available in sizes 1XLT, 2X, 2XLT, 3X, 3XLT and4X and in three very patriotic colors: Red, White or Blue. Aveo's "Play Fearlessly" branding logo can be found on the bottom hem of all shirts

Aveo is going to test the waters with these two new golf apparel items; after seeing the quality and attention to detail they offer, I think that they will be setting the benchmark for men's big and tall golf apparel. For more information or visit their website at www.aveogolf.com.

About: David Theoret

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
