Antigua Spring 2017

Bright and Bold

By David Theoret

Antigua has been one of the country's leading marketers and designers of golf and lifestyle apparel for decades. They have been a part of the PGA Show in Orlando, FL for 32 consecutive years and have been chosen as a partner for Ryder Cup matches, PGA Championships, Solheim Cups and numerous other golf events around the world. The recent introduction of their Spring 2017 collection proves they still have the winning combination of technical fabrics and colors/designs to keep the company moving forward.

Their new Men's Endure Polo incorporates their Desert Dry moisture wicking technology into a fabric that is 94% micro polyester and 6% spandex, giving you that little bit of extra stretch you need to move comfortably through your golf swing. The self-collar, 3-button placket and hemmed cuffs on the sleeves add to the sporty look of this eye-catching polo. There's a 3D silver reflective logo on the left sleeve to help identify the brand. The Endure Polo is available in sizes S - 2XL and in 8 eye-popping colors: Cabana, Pineapple, Cajun, White, Cypress, Black, Mulberry, Marmalade. Retail price is $65.

Another good-looking polo from Antigua for Spring 2017 is the Channel Polo. Antigua has perfected pique with 4-way stretch construction. This 100% polyester garment features their Desert Dry moisture-wicking technology, keeping you dry on even the most humid of days. It features a yarn dye engineered pique & jersey knit stripe front panel polo with flat knit collar. 3 button placket & open cuff. Th striping starts mid chest and works its way down the front, creating a unique look. There's a 3D silver reflective "A" logo on the left sleeve as well. The Channel Polo is available in sizes M-2XL and in 6 colors, all with multi-stripes: Cypress, Harbor, Black, White, Mulberry and Cajun. Retail price is $65.

There are also several new designs and styles for women this spring. The Array Polo features a basket weave pointelle mesh jacquard pattern on a 100% polyester fabric with Desert Dry technology. The contrasting 2-color coverstitching at the shoulder and sleeve hem creates a feminine look. The Array Polo features a zip placket with contrast neck tape detail, a flat knit collar and open cuffs on the sleeves. There's also a 3D silver reflective A logo on the right sleeve. The Array Polo is available in sizes S-XL and in 6 color combinations. Retail price is $70.

The Women's Sequence Polo is sure to turn some heads. It's crafted from Antigua's 97% polyester/3% spandex jersey fabric with Desert Dry moisture wicking technology. The contrasting mesh jacquard pattern shoulder & side insets sets this short sleeve polo apart; the 5-button placket, self-fabric collar and open cuff design only adds to the look. About: David Theoret

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
