Below is an interview with Corey Feller who shares some valuable tidbits about the course, memorable holes and must eats and treats at the 19th.

Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property Shamrock Heights is a beautiful course set in the heart of the Wolf River Valley. The course was first opened as a 9 hole course in 1924 and another none holes was added in 2005. The front nine is set in and around and old stone quarry and has maintained the character of that quarry by using some of its old rocks and elevation changes. The back nine boarders the New London Fish and Game Farm and has a nice mix of original holes and new holes. Large trees and native fescue grasses make this nine a pleasure to play. Shamrock Heights caters to all abilities of play and the natural landscape of the area makes it a must play and see!

If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course? A golfer should play Shamrock Heights because it is a course that anyone can play and have fun. The course is not overly long for the average golfer, but the course is a true piece of mother natures work. Shamrock Heights is always in great shape with excellent greens. It is a place where you can be a peace with nature and have a fun round of golf.

What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course? A good piece of advise at Shamrock Heights is to make sure you get the ball in the fairway. Playing less club and keeping it in the fairway is better than being long and in the junk. Shamrock Heights greens can be tricky at times so on many holes it is very important to keep the ball below the hole. Watch the 18th green it is very difficult. The green breaks more than you think and is very fast downhill.

Recent Awards or What You Are Most Proud About The Course? We are very happy to host a NEWGA Senior Championship in 2013. We were also a 2012 finalist for having one of the best holes in Northeast Wisconsin according to a poll on CW13. One thing that we are very proud of is the number of people that play our course for the first time and then come back more times throughout the year because they enjoyed it so much. We are definitly a hidden gem.

What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole? Hole number 6 is our signature hole by far. It is absolutly one of the most beautiful holes in Northeast Wisconsin. You tee off from an elevated tee box overlooking the old quarry which has a great view. You tee off to a fairway that is a dogleg left and is protected by a large pond on the left and hazard on the right. It is a very awe inspiring and difficult hole.

What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It? I really enjoy playing number 13. This is probably the most difficult hole on the course. Your tee shot gives you an option. There is a creek at about 220 yards from the tee with fescue to the right and to the left. When there is no wind the creek can be carried otherwise you have to consider laying up. Laying up leaves you a long second shot to a green that has a bunker on the right and serious trouble long. I like this hole the best because it makes you think the most. When going over the water you must stay right of the tree on the left side of the fairway or you won't clear the water. The best and shortest shot to clear the water is a play to the right side of the fairway or right rough.

Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole? Friday fish fry's a are second to none and our homemade pizzas are a must have after your round of golf. The Tom Collins is a favorite drink around here.
