If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course?
Ranked #3 in Iowa for best public courses, The Preserve is Southern Iowa's only course on the list. Not only will the proxiity to the metro suprise you, our friendly staff and amazing views await you. A golf course in excellent shape, full practice facility, and on-site PGA professionals are just a few of the reasons The Preserve should be first on your list.
What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course?
The Preserve is a links style design. Accuracy and patience are key factors in enjoying the day. Tall grass and native prairie grasses line our generous fairways so driver may not always be the right play. 5 sets of tees on every hole allow for all skill levels to enjoy the facility.

What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole?
Our 5th hole, a scenic par 5 is our most often referred to hole. Only 500 yard in length, the tee shot demands both distance and accuracy down hill over a small portion of Hamm Creek to a small landing area. Once you navigate this shot, the remainder of the hole is straight up hill to a two-tiered green. Missing the green on either side will require a shot with touch from a potentially uneven lie. Par is a good score here.
What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It?
My favorite is #16. This long Par 4 showcases 2 distinctly separate lines of play. The left (or upper) fairway plays somewhat longer but leaves a visible approach to the green. The right (lower) fairway, while risky, offers a slightly shorter yet blind shot to the green. Chose enough club on your 2nd to avoid the bunker directly in front of the green. Pay special attention to the hole location so par stays in the plans. A back pin will add at least one club to your 2nd shot to a relatively flat green.
Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole?
We are very well known for our burgers at The Preserve. Be sure not to miss out on a chance to put your hands on one before you head home.
Who Holds Course Record and What Was Their Score?
We have 5 different course record holders from each of our respective teeing areas. They are as follows:
Black Tees - 62 - Andy Peterson
Green Tees - 63 - Darin Fisher
White Tees - 64 - Justin Zaputil
Yellow tees - 73 - Rollo Fisher
Red Tees - 69 - Anna Cullinan
Clearly all amazing rounds, something they should be very proud of!

All of his life, Brian has been around the game of golf. As a youngster, Brian competed at all levels in junior and high school golf. Brian had a zero chance for a college golf scholarship, so he worked on the grounds crew at West Bend Country Club to pay for his University of Wisconsin education. In his adult years, his passion for the game collided with his entrepreneurial spirit and in 2004 launched GolfWisconsin.com. In 2007, the idea for a network of local golf directory sites formed and GolfTrips.com was born. Today, the network consists of a site in all 50 states supported by national sites like GolfTrips.com, GolfGuide.com and GolfPackages.com. It is an understatement to say, Brian is passionate about promoting golf and golf travel on a local, regional, national and international level.
On the golf course, Brian is known as a fierce weekend warrior that fluctuates between a 5-9 handicap. With a soft fade, known as "The Weis Slice", and booming 300+ drives, he can blast it out of bounds with the best of them.
