Below is an interview with Jim Dziekan, CCM who shares some valuable tidbits about the course, memorable holes and must eats and treats at the 19th.

Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property
From it's gracefully curving fairways to it's immaculately manicured greens, the Boulder Ridge golf course bears the unmistakable mark of a champion.

That champion is Fuzzy Zoeller, former winner of the Masters and US Open, who has lent his personal touch to this spectacular 27 hole course.

It was Fuzzy's personal philosophy, which guided Lohmann Golf Design in the creation of Boulder Ridge's par 72 course. Sculpted out of the Illinois heartland, this 7,000 yard private course pays tribute to the game through its respect for both nature and golfer alike.

Each hole features multiple tee locations attracting players of all levels. Paved tee-to-green cart paths weave throughout the entire course, while strategically placed bunkers enhance the landscape, as well as the game.

If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course?
What makes a good golf course truly great? According to Fuzzy, a course must be flexible enough to equally challenge both amateur and professional. It must be as beautiful to look at as it is to play. The course must be spacious and wide open, with water providing a refreshing backdrop rather than a frustrating hazard. And above all, a great golf course must withstand the test of time, providing a golfer as much enjoyment on his or her fiftieth outing as it did on the very first.

What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course?
Tee shot placement on par 4's and 5's is critical and make sure approach shots are below the hole.

What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole?
Hole number 6 is a very interesting risk reward hole. This par 4 features a split fairway with bunkers in the center. A tee shot to the right fairway sets up a shorter approach shot into the green. However your drive must carry water and the right side of the fairway is flanked by water all the way to the green. A tee shot to the left fairway takes away the water carry off the tee but leaves you with a much longer approach shot. Depending on placement off the tee, you can be left with a 185 to 200 yard shot into the green.

What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It?
My favorite hole is #3, a make-able par 4. Avoid the fairway bunker on the left and depending on pin location, make sure you are below the cup otherwise the sloped green makes for a very difficult putt.

Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole?
Boulder Ridge Country Club has a fantastic chef. Todd Weber has been the executive chef since 2005. Everything on the menu is delicious. the steaks, chops and fresh fish are all expertly prepared. To be honest with you, the two items we receive more compliments on are the soups and the burgers.
