Ryan Brehm Wins the LeCom Health Challenge and Earns PGA Tour Card
By Brian Weis
LochenHeath Member and Traverse City resident, Ryan Brehm wins the LeCom Health Challenge and earns his PGA Tour card for 2019-2020 season. This will be Brehm's second trip to the PGA Tour. Currently, he is fifth on the Korn Ferry Tour's rankings with his win.
The win comes a week after Brehm finished just one shot out of a playoff and bumps him to fifth on the tour's points list - putting him in position for a PGA Tour Card for the 2019-20 season. The top 25 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list earn full status for next season.
Brehm, a graduate of Michigan State, played in 17 PGA Tour events in the 2016-17 season but finished outside of the top 125 which is needed to keep your PGA Tour Card.
Brehm said he's now more prepared for what lies ahead. "It's different this time. I'm a little older. I've accepted this is what I do for a living, and this is my career. I just wasn't ready for the tour last time. I didn't really know what it meant. This time it feels like I'm on more of a solid foundation moving forward."
Brehm, practices, and plays at LochenHeath when he is not on tour. Ryan and his wife Chelsey have been big supporters of the Chip in Fore Munson Hospice golf outing held in September. There are five more tournaments on the Korn Ferry Tour before the end of the year playoffs begin.
Currently, LochenHeath is a private club allowing limited outside play. For more information, please contact LochenHeath Golf Club at 231-938-9800 or visit www.lochenheath.com.
