TWO PUEBLO BONITO RESORTS RECOGNIZED IN 2020 CONDE NAST TRAVELER READERS' CHOICE AWARDS

By Brian Weis

Two Pueblo Bonito resorts have been recognized for excellence in Conde Nast Traveler's 2020 Readers' Choice Awards. The winning properties selected by the prestigious publication's readers in the "Top 20 Resorts in Western Mexico" category are Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Beach Resort.

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort has been significantly expanded and refined since its debut in 2005. Fronting a magnificent 2.5-mile stretch of pristine beach, this enchanting oasis at Land's End, set back from the place where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, was designed to showcase the unique beauty of the Baja Peninsula's mountain-desert-ocean environment.

Tranquil and romantic, this adults-only, all-inclusive resort hotel, featuring the wellness-inspired Armonia Spa, is situated within the exclusive residential development of Quivira Los Cabos. Peninsula, the resort's signature restaurant, features eclectic Baja cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients, while the open-air Peninsula Lounge features panoramic views of the sea, sky and sand. The Towers at Pacifica, a deluxe "resort within a resort" opened in 2016, features 47 elegant Club suites and rooms and unparalleled personalized services and amenities, including 24-hour butler service to meet any and all guest needs. Pacifica is located 15 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas and five minutes from the spectacular Jack Nicklaus Signature course at Quivira Golf Club, which offers exclusive access to Pueblo Bonito guests.

Guests also have access to a wide array of dining options at the other Pueblo Bonito Resorts, including The Market at Quivira, a lively culinary food hall with an enticing array of themed eateries (from Asian to Italian); and an urban-themed sports bar, The After at Quivira, that features specialty cocktails, artisanal craft beers and American bar fare with a Mexican twist. For fine dining, foodies seek out Peninsula Restaurant at Pacifica, which features regional Baja cuisine and expansive views of the beach, or LaFrida, at Sunset Beach, where a unique approach to Mexican cuisine has earned the restaurant widespread accolades.

Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Beach Resort is affectionately known as "Blanco" for its gleaming white exterior walls and classic Mediterranean-style architecture. Along with its gracious service, the resort owes much of its enduring charm and appeal to its exceptional location. Situated on the golden sands of El Médano Beach, "Blanco" offers safe-for-swimming waters only footsteps from the hotel's beautifully decorated suites. Accommodations, bars and dining outlets at the 148-room hotel are oriented to the distinctive rock formations at Land's End, including El Arco, Cabo's iconic sea arch. Guests can splash in the pool, lounge on the beach or take a short stroll to downtown Cabo San Lucas for shopping and lively entertainment. Amenities include a superb array of restaurants and casual beachside seating with food and beverage service as part of the deluxe all-inclusive plan.

Pueblo Bonito Golf & Spa Resorts is one of Mexico's premier resort hotel firms. Starting with a single hotel in Mazatlán in 1987, the family-owned hospitality company has attracted a loyal following by consistently delivering great vacation experiences.

Acknowledging the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on travel, the publication stated, "Our 33rd Readers' Choice Awards represents the first time that you, the voters, made your picks when almost no one was traveling, So the names in this year's edition are the ones that brought you comfort , that you still connect with long afterward, that got you through the months without travel. These are the enduring gems that can withstand the test of times and the vicissitudes of circumstances. So, while it's always an honor to be one this list, in this strangest of years it is a special honor, indeed. Many readers have told us that when we emerge from this pandemic, they want to turn their attention to the classics, whether that means personal favorites or places they know have brought joy to others."

Winners will be celebrated in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler as well as online at www.cntraveler.com/rca.

About: Brian Weis

Brian Weis Brian Weis is the mastermind behind GolfTrips.com, a vast network of golf travel and directory sites covering everything from the rolling fairways of Wisconsin to the sunbaked desert layouts of Arizona. If there’s a golf destination worth visiting, chances are, Brian has written about it, played it, or at the very least, found a way to justify a "business trip" there.

As a card-carrying member of the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA), International Network of Golf (ING), Golf Travel Writers of America (GTWA), International Golf Travel Writers Association (IGTWA), and The Society of Hickory Golfers (SoHG), Brian has the credentials to prove that talking about golf is his full-time job. In 2016, his peers even handed him The Shaheen Cup, a prestigious award in golf travel writing—essentially the Masters green jacket for guys who don’t hit the range but still know where the best 19th holes are.

Brian’s love for golf goes way back. As a kid, he competed in junior and high school golf, only to realize that his dreams of a college golf scholarship had about the same odds as a 30-handicap making a hole-in-one. Instead, he took the more practical route—working on the West Bend Country Club grounds crew to fund his University of Wisconsin education. Little did he know that mowing greens and fixing divots would one day lead to a career writing about the best courses on the planet.

In 2004, Brian turned his golf passion into a business, launching GolfWisconsin.com. Three years later, he expanded his vision, and GolfTrips.com was born—a one-stop shop for golf travel junkies looking for their next tee time. Today, his empire spans all 50 states, and 20+ international destinations.

On the course, Brian is a weekend warrior who oscillates between a 5 and 9 handicap, depending on how much he's been traveling (or how generous he’s feeling with his scorecard). His signature move" A high, soft fade that his playing partners affectionately (or not-so-affectionately) call "The Weis Slice." But when he catches one clean, his 300+ yard drives remind everyone that while he may write about golf for a living, he can still send a ball into the next zip code with the best of them.

Whether he’s hunting down the best public courses, digging up hidden gems, or simply outdriving his buddies, Brian Weis is living proof that golf is more than a game—it’s a way of life.
