Brown Golf Management Acquires Carolina National Golf Club
By Dave Daubert
Brown Golf is once again expanding its portfolio of outstanding golf properties with the acquisition of Carolina National Golf Club in Bolivia, North Carolina, located in Brunswick County and features three distinctive nine-hole courses, the Egret, Heron and Ibis, named for the birds native to the area. The layout is just 30 minutes south of Wilmington and equidistant from North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The 27-hole Fred Couples signature designed golf club winds through rich low country terrain, featuring several dramatic views of the Lockwood Folly River, and has been recognized as one of the finest courses on the Eastern Seaboard by Golf Digest. Headquartered in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania Brown Golf now has twenty-two locations offering 28 golf courses in eight states: FL, GA, MN, MO, NC, PA, SC & VT. Brown will install its proprietary technology GolfBack at the golf course and eliminate third-party providers and allow the course to:
1. Drive direct tee times to the website.
2. Offer its customers 'Daily Steals' and 'Instant Rewards.'
3. Allow the club to collect all of its customer data.
4. Allow the club to market directly to its customers
Brent Miller, CIO states "with Brown Golf's acquisition of Carolina National, the best value to book a tee time will be through the golf course website." The club will feature both membership and daily fee options.
In Florida, Brown manages Julington Creek Golf Club and Windsor Parke in Jacksonville, Eagle Ridge in Summerfield, and the three courses at Orange Lake Resort in Central Florida. Most recently they just opened the McCord Brown Golf Academy at Orange Lake under the direction of PGA Master Professional and Lead Instructor John Brown. You can call 407-239-1050 or visit OrangeLakeGolf.com for tee times or more information about the Academy.
The Carolina National club will be owned by three owners of Brown Golf, one Brown Golf employee and one minority owner. Brown Golf will be installed as the golf management company handling all facets of the club. John Brown, CEO says "Carolina National Golf Club is exactly the type of facility that our company can excel with. These 3 nines are great layouts in a thriving emerging market. We are excited about the long-term possibilities of the club."
