Concra Wood Golf & Country Club, Castleblayney, Ireland
Location: Concra, Dundalk Road (N53), Co. Monaghan, Ireland.
One of Ireland's most stunning golf destinations, Concra Wood Golf & Country Club is a course set in a splendid natural setting overlooking the marvelous Lough Muckno.
Lough Muckno (Lake Muckno), is one of the most beautiful lakes in Northern Ireland. Its leisure park is the best place to relax after a day on the course. Here you can find various alluring walk paths, fishing spots, playgrounds and a charming Coffee Deck.
The course itself offers some pretty fantastic views of the lake. It's an 18 hole, par 72 course. The course has various holes worthy of mentioning, such as the double dogleg par five 4th with its intimidating approach to a water-protected green, the valley-like 8th which after falling from the tee, arcs up to the green.
Its signature hole is probably the par 3 fifth one, located right next to the lake. The Par 3 with a tiny target can prove quite difficult to overcome in certain wind conditions. Other two holes that can offer a greater challenge are the 15th and 16th ones with their tee shots across the lake, wayward shots to the right of these holes will end up in the water.

This course may be the wildest golf course in the world. You may catch a sight of some local wildlife that includes wild boars, giraffes, antelopes, zebras etc. During the lockdown even lions and hyenas were seen taking over the course.
The 9 hole 18-tee, par 72 course is located in Kruger National Park, in one of its most wildlife rich regions. It may not be as luxurious as other top courses, but its close proximity to the untamed African wilderness surely sets it apart.
Uummannaq Greenland Golf Course, Greenland
Location: Uummannaq, Greenland.
The Uummannaq golf course is known as the most northern golf course in the world, being home to the World Snow Golf Championships since 1997. Unique about this golf course is that it changes annually depending by the moods of nature and the shape of the ice.
Each March (if the weather allows it) the 9 holes of the course are laid out on a field of fjords and icebergs. Golfers from all around the world then face off against each other and the elements in a 36-hole tournament, the only one played in the Arctic Circle.
If such an icy destination is on your bucket list there are a few things you should prep differently for a better game here. Pack some orange/red balls as the white ones are easily lost in the snow and leave your graphite clubs at home as the low temperatures (as low as -58 degrees F) can actually cause them snap in half.
Whether you are looking for a sunny destination or you're prepared to face freezing temperatures for an unforgettable experience, there are some hidden golf gems around the globe that will surely not fail to impress you. Hopefully this guide will come in handy when planning your next golf trip so you get the best out of your vacation.
