From Golf Apparel to Sunglasses, Oakley's Got You Covered

By David Theoret

Oakley has done wonders with their new lineup of golf sunglasses. With the , they've taken a timeless, Wayfarer-like design and added their own touches. For starters, they've lightened things up with their durable yet gravity-defying O Matterâ„¢ frame material which protects against high-velocity and high-mass impact. Their Three-Point Fit eliminates pressure points that are common with frames that hook around the ears and the sculptural reliefs on the ear stems make these shades Ideal for everyday wear.

What really sets these sunglasses apart are the lenses. Sliver features Oakley's new PRIZM lenses, a revolutionary new lens technology that fine-tunes vision for specific sports and environments. PRIZM lenses provide unprecedented control of light transmission resulting in colors precisely tuned to maximize contrast and enhance visibility. These sunglasses actually help you to see every break in the green. The Plutonite lens material maximizes clarity and blocks 100% of UVA, UVB, UVC, and blue light. Sliver also features patented High Definition Optics (HDO), technologies that allow Oakley eyewear to meet or exceed standards of clarity, visual fidelity, and impact resistance.

So much for the technology side of things, the big question is: Will they help me on the golf course? The answer is a resounding yes! Not only are these glasses comfortable, they keep your eyes relaxed during your round. I found that I had less putts and could read the greens better. I highly recommend them for golf. Retail price is $150.

Crafted with, The Hazardous Golf Shorts are made from a 65% Nylon/30% Polyester/5% Spandex stretch twill fabric that moves with you through every phase of your swing. David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
