Sunice for 2018

- Everything You'd Expect From A Leader in Golf Apparel Technology

By David Theoret

The Sunice brand has been a staple product of skiers around the world for many years. In fact they've been an outfitter for teams in the Winter Olympics multiple times and have led the ski apparel industry in expertise, functionality and innovation for more than 40 years. But did you know they also make golf apparel?

It all started with a meeting between a clothing designer and a manufacturer of emergency services uniforms in 1976. By using the same quality and protection aspects used in the manufacturing of uniforms and applying it to insulated outerwear, Sunice was able to develop performance apparel with unprecedented quality for outdoor sports enthusiasts.

In 1992, Sunice introduced a line of golf outerwear built on the same philosophy of quality and protection that goes into their ski apparel; garments that are consistently waterproof, breathable, lightweight and durable. In 2006, they expanded their golf apparel line to include golf's most effective multi-layer performance system that helps golfers of all levels to perform at their very best in all possible weather conditions. To cap it all off, Sunice was named the Official Outerwear Provider of the U.S. Solheim Cup and International Presidents' Cup teams in 2013. These days, you'll find Sunice apparel gracing the bodies of over 60 PGA and LPGA Pros, without any exchange of endorsement dollars. Golfers worldwide are making Sunice their go-to brand of golf apparel, especially for extreme weather conditions extremely proud. It also fuels our drive for continuous innovation.

The 2018 collection of Sunice golf apparel is everything you'd expect from the company. The Women's Samantha Short is a short like no other, thanks to Sunice's innovative Coollite performance fabric. Coollite is amazingly light and cool, and it's moisture wicking properties keep moisture away from your skin while allowing full freedom of movement. An anti-microbial and UV finish on the fabric keeps you smelling fresh and protected from the sun's harmful rays. The Samantha Short features a zip-fly front , belt loops, quarter-top front pockets and two zippered pockets. All of the pockets are mesh lined. They are available in sizes 2 - 16 and in Black, White, Oyster Mélange and a Violet Blue Flash Print. Retail price is $98.50.

Women are going to love their new Dreamskin Stretch Sleeveless Polo. Not only is this sleek sleeveless stretch polo one of the most comfortable polos you will ever put on, the advanced DreamSkin technology encourages a healthy skin environment by increasing and decreasing moisture that reaches your skin thanks to the moisture-wicking Coollite fibers. It's also designed with ventilated mesh panel down the center back, the perfect place to release the heat. The fabric is also treated with an anti-microbial and UV finish to keep you smelling fresh and out of the sun. The Erin Dreamskin Stretch Sleeveless Polo is available in sizes XS - XXL and in 2 color combinations: Heat Wave/Pure White and Violet Blue/Blue Water. Retail price is $79.

When things cool down, you'll need something to keep you warm and when it comes to staying warm, is there anything better than down? Since down is a little too extreme, Sunice offers a smart alternative: 3M Thinsulate. This featherless insulation alternative is designed to mimic the look and performance of down but stays warm when it gets damp. 3M Thinsulate is highly breathable too. Sunice's Finley Thermal Quilted Vest is super lightweight and has stretch inserts for better range of motion. It's completely water-repellent and windproof, with a full-zip front, bottom hem cinching and side pockets. The Finley Vest is available in sizes XS - XXL and in several stunning color combinations: Papaya/Pure White, Black Serenity Print/Black, Black, Pure White/Oyster/Cherry, or Violet Blue Flash/Violet. Retail price is $155.

Guys also have a wide variety of Sunice apparel to choose from. As the name implies, the Nolan Coollite Performance Modern Stripe Short Sleeve Shirt features Coollite fibers for superior moisture-wicking and cooling performance. This performance polo is also treated to protect you from odor and UV rays. The modern striping pattern is offset by a solid collar, placket and cuffs. The Nolan Polo looks as great as it performs and comes in sizes S - XXL and in Black/Pure White or Midnight/Outrageous Orange. Retail price is $79.50.

Sunice offers a lightweight, unlined wind shirt that easily packs into your golf bag, keeping you prepared for windy conditions and light rain showers. The Westchester features a half-zip, short sleeve pullover design and is made from an innovative, densely woven denier yarn, creating superior breathability and moisture wicking. It's also coated with Sunice's unique water-repellent WxTech finish, perfect for light rain showers. The Westchester Wind Shirt has a half-zip placket, side pockets and bottom hem cinching to keep unwanted elements out. It's available in sizes S - XXL and in 10 vibrant colors. Retail price is $89.50.

The Brady Coollite 5-Pocket Stretch Pant takes the styling of your favorite pair of jeans and combines it with the company's high-performance Coollite™ fabric. What you get is a pant that is ready for just about anything. The Coollite fibers allow moisture to wick faster than typical performance poly fabric and the finishes on the product block out both the harmful UV rays of the sun and odor. The 88% poly/12% spandex material has all the stretch you'll ever need to get through your golf swing with no pinching or binding. The Brady Coollite 5-Pocket Pant is available in waist sizes 30 - 40 in lengths of 32 and 34. Two colors are available: Charcoal or Black. Retail price is $115.

About: David Theoret

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
