ECCO Biom Hybrid 3 - The Latest & Greatest From ECCO is Nothing Short of Amazing

- The Latest & Greatest From ECCO is Nothing Short of Amazing

By David Theoret

ECCO has introduced their next generation of hybrid golf shoes for 2018; the Biom Hybrid 3. The original concept of the Biom hasn't changed. When the original Biom Hybrid was designed, the goal was to create a contour on the inside of the shoe that closely mirrored the shape of your foot. If you remove the thin Ortholite insole, you will see that this original goal is something that ECCO has continued to achieve with the Biom Hybrid 3.

ECCO's Biomechanical Optimization Natural Motion Technology, (Biom) studies shows how the body and feet move. ECCO uses this information to create an anatomical last shape that delivers optimal cushioning and impact absorption as well as the best fit and feel.

The new Biom Hybrid 3 shoe features ECCO's newest outsole innovation, the Tri-Fi-Grip. What makes this outsole different are the three different zones as, the "tri" implies. The dark zones on the outside of the heel and toe deliver lateral stability and are a made from a more rigid TPU material that has less give than the main sole. The second zone is all about durability; the diamond shaped wavy design is made from a TPU that is built to last. The third zone features rounded lugs on the front of the sole which helps your foot rotate more easily as you swing through the ball. All three zones work in unison to deliver the proper performance from your back-swing to your follow-through. As spikeless shoes go, these shoes keep you connected to the ground as well as any soft spiked shoes I've ever worn. Plus, with the design of the outsole, clumps of grass won't stick to the sole and make a mess of your trunk after your round!

The sole of the shoe is bonded to the upper with what ECCO refers to as FluidForm, a process that works without using glue or stitching. This gives the shoe greater durability and flexibility and also makes the shoe lighter.

The Biom Hybrid 3 features yak leather uppers. Yak leather is a lightweight leather with a compact grain and stays light without sacrificing performance and strength. It's robust, supple, durable and extremely breathable. ECCO tans all their leather in-house, so their quality control is second to none. The Hybrid 3 is also the first Biom shoe to feature ECCO's 100% waterproof GORE-TEX construction. Combine this with ECCO's HYDROMAX leather treatment and you'll be treated to completely dry comfort. ECCO is so confident that your feet will stay dry that the shoe has a 3-year waterproof warranty.

The ECCO Biom Hybrid 3 shoes are available in sizes 8/8.5 to 14/14.5 and in several smart looking color combinations: Black/Bermuda Blue, Black/Buffed Silver, Concrete/Scarlet, White/Black, White/Kiwi and White/Silver. Retail price is $199.99.

When you combine the new features of the Biom Hybrid 3 with the comfort, fit, and feel the company is known for, what more could you ask for? For more information on the new Biom Hybrid 3 golf shoe or to place an order, visit their website at www.ecco.com.

About: David Theoret

David Theoret David Theoret has been in the golf and golf travel industry for over 10 years, primarily selling online advertising. For the past seven years, he has also been a golf writer, reviewing golf courses, resorts, destinations, equipment, golf apparel, and training aids - the latter of which never seems to help. David's articles and reviews have been posted on many golf travel and equipment websites.

Growing up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, it was naturally assumed he would play hockey. Beginning at the age of 3 and continuing into his late 30's, he did just that. However, after one too many pucks to the head, he realized that golf was a lot easier on the body (whoever said hockey players were slow) and took the game up.

After moving to Florida and accepting a position with TravelGolf Media (now part of GolfNow) his love for the game grew exponentially. Most Saturdays you will find him on a course somewhere in Florida or on the practice range reinforcing his bad habits. David plays to a 10 handicap - unless there is money involved in which case it goes considerably higher. He currently resides in Lakeland, FL with his wife Belinda and their two "kids", Madyson and Molly.
