Looking to plan the perfect golf trip to Experience Jackson? Planning a buddies trip or a romantic golf getaway can be a full time job not to mention pressure filled to deliver a memorable experience. Below is an interview with Co-written by Rachel Buchanan & Lindsey Whipple, Rachel (Marketing & Development Manager) Lindsey (Administrative Assistant) from Experience Jackson who shares some insider information about golfing and traveling to Experience Jackson, must play courses, a sample itinerary and where you can go for more planning tools.

Give our readers an overview of your destination and why they should consider it for their next golf trip?
With one of the highest number of golf courses per capita (around the country), Jackson County, Michigan is an affordable and attractive location to golf and play.

What are the must play courses in Experience Jackson?
Golf has been a part of Jackson's personality for a long time. We're talking late 1800s, when Clara Carter opened the 9-hole Meadow Heights course near Vandercook Lake. The total number of county courses has ballooned to more than 20 since then, 17 of which have at least 18 holes. For starters, Grande Golf Club was awarded an impressive 4.5 stars from Golf Digest, Cascades' Course is consistently listed as one of the top public courses in Michigan, and Arbor Hills offers the unique experience of a country club-turned-public. Hankerd Hills Golf Course and Concord Hills Golf Course provide flawless fairways just outside the city, while Brooklyn boasts the scenic Clark Lake and Hills' Heart of the Lakes courses.

What services or information do you provide for traveling golfers?
We provide stay & play packages for anyone traveling to Jackson, MI. We work hand in hand with 5 of our courses and 5 of our local hotels, packaging rounds of golf with overnight stays in our town. We make it an easy one stop shop for payment, as the hotel will collect everything upfront and all invoicing is handled from each party behind the scenes. Golfers simply provide all of the required information on our website form, which will then be sent to Lindsey and she will reach out for confirmation on provided information and then begin packaging your Golf/Hotel.

What is the hidden gem and/or best value course?
We love our golf here in Jackson. In fact, we love it so much that we have one of the highest number of golf courses per capita in the entire country, behind others such Sarasota, Florida. Play a round in Jackson and see why lush landscapes, convenient location and affordable green fees keep golfers coming back year after year.

Over a dozen museums across the county, highlighting everything from a rich history in Jackson transportation, fine art, a virtual historical train ride experience, military artifacts, a large collection of antique reed organs, and whitetail deer! Self-guided and app-guided tours lead you on the path of the Underground Railroad, and a revitalized downtown foodie scene with fine dining, smash burgers, themed breweries, and boutique shops. Experience Jackson's miles of natural and paved trails and abundance of public access lakes for a moment of peace and reflection.
