By Brian Weis
KemperSports, a leading golf, sports, entertainment and hospitality company, announced today a partnership with the owners of The Club at Porto Cima (pronounced "Chima") to manage the 18-hole private club in Sunrise Beach, Mo. Located along the western shore of The Lake of the Ozarks, The Club at Porto Cima consistently ranks as one of the top private clubs in the state.
"As founders and long-term owners of The Club at Porto Cima, we are very excited to partner with KemperSports given their reputation, experience and expertise in managing high-quality private clubs with a member-centric, resort experience," said Mark Brown, President of Four Seasons Group, owners of the club. "We are very proud of our Jack Nicklaus Signature Course and intend to expand the awareness of this spectacular course with the goal of moving the course higher in the rankings given the unique setting with seven holes on the lake."
The Club at Porto Cima features an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course, a 17,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style clubhouse along with The Yacht Club, which is located adjacent to the golf clubhouse and features a 118-slip marina, a marina clubhouse, a swimming pool overlooking the marina and lake, fitness area, tennis court, pickleball court, and a poolside cabana.
The focal point of The Club at Porto Cima is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course with seven holes that play along or over The Lake of the Ozarks. The 7,060-yard, par-72 golf course opened in 2000 and ranks #10 on Golf Digest's list of the best courses in Missouri.
The club's Mediterranean-style golf clubhouse features a full-service golf shop, men's and ladies locker rooms, meeting and banquet space for private events and weddings, plus multiple food and beverage options in The Grille Room Restaurant, the Sandtrap Lounge, a private member dining room as well as an outdoor patio for dining overlooking the 18th hole.
"The Club at Porto Cima is one of the most iconic and visually stunning properties in the state of Missouri," said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. "We look forward to working with Mark and the Brown family to take the club to the next level as we enhance the facility and the member experience."
KemperSports will utilize its experience in the ratings and rankings process to properly position The Club at Porto Cima amongst the top-ranked golf courses in the state. KemperSports manages more top 100 golf courses than any other management company.
KemperSports' rapidly growing portfolio continues to thrive across the country. With the addition of The Club at Porto Cima, the company now manages a second private club in Missouri as KemperSports also manages The Country Club of St. Albans in St. Albans, Mo.

About: Brian Weis
Brian Weis is the mastermind behind GolfTrips.com, a vast network of golf travel and directory sites covering everything from the rolling fairways of Wisconsin to the sunbaked desert layouts of Arizona. If there’s a golf destination worth visiting, chances are, Brian has written about it, played it, or at the very least, found a way to justify a "business trip" there.
As a card-carrying member of the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA), International Network of Golf (ING), Golf Travel Writers of America (GTWA), International Golf Travel Writers Association (IGTWA), and The Society of Hickory Golfers (SoHG), Brian has the credentials to prove that talking about golf is his full-time job. In 2016, his peers even handed him The Shaheen Cup, a prestigious award in golf travel writing—essentially the Masters green jacket for guys who don’t hit the range but still know where the best 19th holes are.
Brian’s love for golf goes way back. As a kid, he competed in junior and high school golf, only to realize that his dreams of a college golf scholarship had about the same odds as a 30-handicap making a hole-in-one. Instead, he took the more practical route—working on the West Bend Country Club grounds crew to fund his University of Wisconsin education. Little did he know that mowing greens and fixing divots would one day lead to a career writing about the best courses on the planet.
In 2004, Brian turned his golf passion into a business, launching GolfWisconsin.com. Three years later, he expanded his vision, and GolfTrips.com was born—a one-stop shop for golf travel junkies looking for their next tee time. Today, his empire spans all 50 states, and 20+ international destinations.
On the course, Brian is a weekend warrior who oscillates between a 5 and 9 handicap, depending on how much he's been traveling (or how generous he’s feeling with his scorecard). His signature move" A high, soft fade that his playing partners affectionately (or not-so-affectionately) call "The Weis Slice." But when he catches one clean, his 300+ yard drives remind everyone that while he may write about golf for a living, he can still send a ball into the next zip code with the best of them.
Whether he’s hunting down the best public courses, digging up hidden gems, or simply outdriving his buddies, Brian Weis is living proof that golf is more than a game—it’s a way of life.
