Summerlin Names Brian Hawthorne New General Manager
By Dave Daubert
TPC Summerlin, part of the TPC Network (owned, operated and licensed by the PGA TOUR), is pleased to welcome Brian Hawthorne, who previously served as the Executive Director of Golf at Wynn Las Vegas, to the team with more than 27 years of industry experience.
"In one of the nation's most competitive golf markets, it's essential to have someone who possesses Brian's wealth of knowledge in operations and leadership," said John Hugghins, senior vice president of TPC Network operations. "We feel confident we've chosen the best person for the job and we are thrilled to welcome Brian back to the TPC Network family."
A team member of TPC Summerlin beginning in 1994, Hawthorne was initially hired as the Assistant Golf Professional before being named Head Golf Professional from 1997-2000. Following his tenure at TPC Summerlin, he moved to Cascata Golf Club, where he was the opening Head Golf Professional and later promoted to General Manager.
Hawthorne served as the Director of Golf at Wynn Golf Club from 2005-2016. Most recently, Brian held the role of Executive Director of Golf Operations at Wynn Las Vegas overseeing the renovation and re-opening of Wynn Golf Club in 2019. In addition to his role in golf operations within the Las Vegas market, he has also served in executive positions with Full Swing Simulators and Topgolf, including a role as an executive committee member of the Shriner's Hospitals for Children Open since 2017.
Named by Golf Digest as "One of America's Best Golf Courses," TPC Summerlin and its championship layout continue to redefine the private golf club membership experience in Las Vegas. The par-72, 7,243-yard golf course is home to the PGA TOUR's Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. TPC Summerlin's layout was carved from a magnificent swath of rugged desert terrain by renowned golf course architect Bobby Weed which meanders through arroyos and canyons, with lush bentgrass greens, striking flora, numerous water features, an abundance of honey mesquite and pine trees contrasting dramatically with undisturbed desert washes - creating one of the most visually stunning tests of golf in Nevada. TPC Summerlin's golf, amenities and exceptional member benefits make it one of the most coveted private clubs in Nevada where members enjoy a sense of community, camaraderie and belonging that comes with participation in exclusive members-only golf and social events throughout the year.
