Getting To Know: The Bull At Pinehurst Farms
What You Need To Know About The Bull Golf Course
By Brian Weis
Whether you have played a course 20+ times a year or looking to play the course for the first time, insights from an insider can help enhance your golf experience. Below is an interview with SCOTT EVANS who shares some valuable tidbits about the course, memorable holes and must eats and treats at the 19th.
Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property
The Bull is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design that will provide a very challenging, enjoyable, and scenic golf experience.
If Someone Was Looking To Golf In The Area, Why Should They Play Your Course?
It is a very challenging and fair golf course that will keep you coming back. The natural beauty of the course is spectacular.
What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course?
Be careful with shots coming into the green, going at the flag is not always the best choice. The middle of the green is very often a great place to be.
Recent Awards or What You Are Most Proud About The Course?
The Bull is ranked #70 on Golf Digest's List of "America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses".
What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole?
Although we have many choices for this I have to say that #7 gets the most attention. The view from the tee is really spectacular, and this par 4 is only 321 yards from the back tee. This hole proves that short yardage does not mean easy birdie opportunity.
What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It?
Again a tough choice but I have to go with #7, standing on that tee is my favorite spot
on the course.
I have always loved short holes that make you think, and this is one of the best anywhere. Leave the driver in the bag and try and leave yourself between 80 and 100 yards from the green. You can leave this green with a birdie, or with fewer golf balls in your bag. Be smart with the tee shot.
Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole?
The Bull Burger is something special if you like burgers, and don't forget the fries, they are outstanding. Only fry I've ever had that can be enjoyed without ketchup. On Friday's you don't want to miss the Fish Fry.

All of his life, Brian has been around the game of golf. As a youngster, Brian competed at all levels in junior and high school golf. Brian had a zero chance for a college golf scholarship, so he worked on the grounds crew at West Bend Country Club to pay for his University of Wisconsin education. In his adult years, his passion for the game collided with his entrepreneurial spirit and in 2004 launched GolfWisconsin.com. In 2007, the idea for a network of local golf directory sites formed and GolfTrips.com was born. Today, the network consists of a site in all 50 states supported by national sites like GolfTrips.com, GolfGuide.com and GolfPackages.com. It is an understatement to say, Brian is passionate about promoting golf and golf travel on a local, regional, national and international level.
On the golf course, Brian is known as a fierce weekend warrior that fluctuates between a 5-9 handicap. With a soft fade, known as "The Weis Slice", and booming 300+ drives, he can blast it out of bounds with the best of them.
