Description
In 1975, a group of Island residents tired of crowds, slow play and difficulties getting tee-times. They decided to build a truly private golf club available to members no matter where they lived with a small enough membership to preclude the necessity of tee times.
The group selected the renowned Rees Jones to create their special gem. In fact Bear Creek was his first golf course! On August 1, 1980, the Club opened and twenty-six years later, Rees Jones returned to complete a renovation of the course, update his design, and improve his gem.
