Nestled on a beautiful expanse of land with the Boise River meandering along to the north and a protective hillside to the south is the skillfully carved Scottich-style BanBury Golf Course. In the late 1990's, golf course architect John Harbottle III designed a masterpiece that looks like it has been established for decades. The course includes dramatic mounding and strategically placed bunkers around the bent-grass greens. Impressively, all 18 holes have the additional challenge of water including lakes, ponds, natural grass-filled wetlands and the rippling river.

The name "BanBury" was selected from a town in England just outside of London, said to have some of the earliest ties to the game of golf. After playing the first 17 holes you'll be treated with the view of the last hole of this magnificent course. The 18th hole may not be the most difficult par-5 on the course, but with the extensive lake and the green surrounded by stadium like mounding and white sand bunkers, it is the most beautiful, deeming it BanBury's signature hole.

BanBury is a challenging 6,890 yards, par 71 course. The layout successfully unites golf with the natural wildlife habitat including eagles, osprey, and cranes along with the occasional fox, raccoon, and deer as well. Since opening in autumn of 1999, BanBury has consistently been rated one of the top golf courses in Idaho by Golf Digest and is still the only golf course in Idaho to host a USGA Championship. In 2005, it played host to the USGA US Girls Championship.
