Golf Course Information
Description
Alec Guion worked with course designer Ellis Maples to create a masterful course and club that would attract family and friends of all golfing abilities. On a beautiful day in the early 1960's, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player were invited to tee it up in an exhibition at a new golf course in a rural part of Mecklenburg County.
The crowd that came that day was made up largely of folks who played Cedarwood regularly. There was a spirit of camaraderie among them that exists still today.
