Golf Course Information
Description
One of the area's finest 18 hole Championship course, Golf d'Allie At The Farm or better known as Farm d'Allie Golf Club, is Louisiana's most natural golf experience. Farm d'Allie has an excellent practice area and teaching facility with an LPGA Certified instructor.
Comprised of 215 acres with much of the course nestled in what Acadians call bottomland or beaubassin, it was once the riverbed of the Mighty Mississippi. The upper bank, the Coteau Ridge, runs North and South, extending through several parishes. At this location, the 55-foot elevation above sea level is the highest point recorded in Lafayette Parish. At one point, this tract was used for growing cotton and soybeans, raising cattle, and was a popular place for locals to ride their horses. Hence, Farm d'Allie was named for the rich history of the land.
The gumbo-type soil was precisely sculpted to show elevation change within the rolling fairways. The fourteen lakes are carefully interconnected below ground to serve as one reservoir that is used as the source for irrigation.
In 1997, owner/developer, Allison Ramsay had a vision for a first class practice facility in a serene, natural and tranquil environment. In October of 2000 the vision became a reality and the teaching facility opened its doors as Golf d'AllieTeaching and Driving Range Facility. February 2003 marked the beginning of an 18-hole championship golf course now known as Farm d'Allie Golf Club and signified Allison's hard work, determination and love for the game.
