Description

The idea to form a golf & country club in Western Loudoun County began in 1926. Inspired by a visit to either a resort in California, or Ashville, NC (reports vary), two Purcellville natives- Mr & Mrs Clarence Robey- returned home convinced that this was the perfect location for such a recreational outlet. And so, in 1927 Loudoun Golf & Country club was incorporated. While they envisioned it mainly as a golfers club, and a place where people could gather and socialize; it eventually grew into a facility that included tennis, swimming and dining- and whos membership would reach and maintain a level of 600 members.
Today, the vision which began as a simple plan to provide a gathering place in what was rural western Loudoun has evolved in to a full-service Country Club committed to providing the best services and facilities to our members and guests- yet still a family friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We are proud to be a club that appeals to our third-generation members, as well as those new to the area, or to the club experience.
LG&CC recognizes the changing dynamics of todays club industry and in the evolving needs of the membership, and is always seeking ways to improve our clubs facilities and programing to meet those expectations.
