Description

Paradise Valley Country Club was developed in 1953 on 180 acres of beautiful desert land in what is known as the most prestgious area in the Valley of the Sun. Paradise Valley Country Club has become a legacy homestead to the town of Paradise Valley, AZ. The Golf Course was designed by Golf Course Architect, Lawrence Hughes, and opened for play on April 19, 1954. Construction of the Pool and the Homestead building was completed January 11, 1955. The Homestead served as the Main Clubhouse until early 1956 when the membership, which then numbered over 600, determined that larger facilities were needed.

Architect, Hiram H. Benedict, drew up plans for the Main Clubhouse and construction began. The grand opening event was held February, 8, 1958. In 1961, the Mixed Grille, Barber Shop, Private Dining Room and expansion of the Dining Room and cocktail Lounge took place. By 1962, four lighted Tennis Courts had been built. Six additional Tennis Courts were added in 1972. Many improvements have taken place since that time with an elevator and port-a-cochere added in 1985 and a major renovation in 1989. In 1992, the Club added the Fitness Center, Paradise Grill, and a Multi-Purpose Room.

The most recent renovation took place in October, 2002 and was completed in October, 2004. The complete renovation now includes: a new and improved Clubhouse complete with a Private Dining Room, Grand Ballroom, Mixed Grill and Golf Pro Shop; Men and Ladies Grill; Men and Ladies Locker Rooms; Fitness Center; Barber shop; Swimming Pool; Lanai Meeting Space; and Tennis Proshop with ten courts. The Club is conveniently located on Tatum Boulevard, just north of Lincoln Drive.
