Description
In 1928, Lake Quivira Country Club was founded as a unique community in the suburbs of Kansas City. A nine hole golf course was opened in July of 1930 and the clubhouse was dedicated in September of 1930. By July of 1931, the course expanded to 18 holes. During the late 1930s home construction began for year round residents. By the 1950s, Lake Quivira had evolved into a residential community with the golf course reserved for members only.
In 1966, Lake Quivira became a gated, private community and today there are 393 resident households with 1000 residents enjoying the many amenities, the lifestyle, and the camaraderie of a true community.
