Golf Course Review: Blackstone Creek Golf Club
7-1-08 Flood Recovery
I golfed this course after a 20+ year absence. The last time I golfed this course was in 1984. Since then the course added and removed 9 holes and changed ownership. Since the resizing back to 18, they've resequenced some holes. I like the the long-term vision (17 and 18 are more fun now) and think the course will really shine when it's complete. Until then and partially due to the flood recovery, the course is....navigationally challenging. They do well with the signage, but it's a less than ideal setup. They've reseeded several holes that we had to play around so by the end of summer it'll be back in prime shape. All greens were in excellent shape, but most had an odd blueish color (fertilizer?) to them. The traps were well-maintained. The scorecard showed a creek crossing #2, but that is not the case. The prices on the website are also incorrect. Two with a cart cost $70 weekday, not the $72.50 per the website.
