Golf Course Review: Badger Creek Golf Course
Great Place to become
As President of the Badger Creek Men's Club, I may be somewhat partial with my review.
Having played at Badger Creek since it opened in 1994, there have been many ongoing improvements. Originally there were many early year drainage issues that impacted play in the spring. Many of the major problem areas have been enhanced with cart path crossings and added retention areas. The BCMC has been instrumental in volunteering in the spring along with the NHHS golf team with our "PAR" Day event.
PAR day originally was an accronym for "Planting And Restoration" as we would gather on a Saturday Morning in Spring to plant trees and help restore the course to make it ready for play. Over the past few years "PAR" Day has transformed into "Paths And Rocks". There have been many athestic improvements which makes Badger Creek a very enjoyable and peaceful place to spend your free time. I have played at many "High end" courses in Metropolitan Areas that may be more mature than Badger Creek, but the "Noise Polution" at those courses takes away from the experience. Some of the best times to play at Badger Creek are early morning or in the evening when you want some peace and quiet, you can become "One with Nature". The current grounds crew staff are doing a magnificent job with course maintenance, as the greens are in probably the best shape ever. The trees originally planted are starting to come into play and yearly enhancements being made certainly makes Badger Creek one of the most affordable and enjoyable places to play in the area.
