Golf Course Review: The Legend at Bristlecone
What's with the 18th hole?
Not a bad course but there are a few holes that just don't compute. The front nine has some wastelands in the middle of nowhere. The last par 3 doesn't get enough sun on it to grow grass. The 18th hole is mickey mouse. You have to hit a lofted iron into this par 4 (i.e., 8-SW) depending on the placement of your tee shot. The green is elevated with a pond on the right and the parking lot on the left. Long is dead. Short is dead. Right is dead. Left is dead. One has to hit a perfect shot into the green which is severely sloped from back to front. Not sure you want to have a finishing hole that is this challenging for more than the average golfer. Make a four - count your blessings and head straight to the victory lounge.
