Golf Course Review: Edgewood Golf Course
Best Value in SE Wisconsin
Extremely well maintained; great bang for the buck.
Beautiful views, I really enjoyed the elevation changes and views of the river. Cranes, wild turkeys, and large bass jumping in the ponds reminded me throughout how great Wisconsin summers are.
Challenging pin placements added interest, but large greens that held long iron shots were great to play long irons. Fairways were expansive and didn't run on top of each other. Roughs were forgiving to play from, but the sand traps were somewhat gravelly. Plenty of open area amidst ample woods. I don't know how many acres they have, but I've seen 36 holes cut into 1/3 the space and been called roomy.
Paid $24.50 for 18 with a cart on a Friday morning of holiday weekend - gonna make this place my new home in Waukesha County. Competition courses in the area - New Berlin, Muskego, Mukwonago, Waterford - don't hold a candle in comparison.
Heard that the local radio station was having their outing there and signed up right away - looking forward to it.
Negatives? Hmm... Carts could use new GPS, and fresh sand in the traps. That's about it.
