Golf Course Review: The Wigwam
Amazing Resort - Great Golf
The resort underwent a major renovation a few years ago and it is first class. I stayed in a fairway side room and it was perfect for our buddies trip. It comfortably slept 2 with plenty of room to play cards and relax.
As far as dining option we had some wonderful meals including the bar at the golf courses.
We played each of the three courses. The Gold, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr is a masterpiece. The course is very unique and almost has a Floridian/South Carolina feel with lush grass and trees lined fairways. One tip, the course plays longer than it appears because all of the greens are elevated and guarded by massive bunkers.
The Patriot (formerly the Red Course) is a short course that is no push over. RTJ Sr follows suit here with 18 elevated greens, strategic bunkers and a snaking water channel that can snatch errant shoots.
The locals and members love the Heritage course.
