Golf Course Review: JaTo Highlands Golf Course
short but a very nice course for the money
played twice from back tees. (5952yards) This is a very aesthetically pleasing course with many elevation changes. There are drinking water stations front and back and portable toilets also. The course is experiencing problems with irrigation pump and lack of rainfall. All greens are small , turtleback , quite firm (if not hard) slow and not very well guarded.
bunkers are somewhat shallow and quite firm.
Tee boxes (blue) were ok but certainly not great. White tees appeared much better.
Fairways on the front are wide open and a little "baked".
The back is much narrower and providing more "shot value". Also, it has some very interesting and challenging holes. If your a lower handicap player, wait for a good rain in the area and then play. The greens will be much more receptive to full wedges and short irons.
This is my favorite Maine course along the I-95 corridor and north of Brunswick.
It is a confidence building course from the back tees. Nobody with a handicap under 16 should play the forward tees. IMHO

Based on my experience: I would play the course again.
