Opened in 1967, the par 72 Santee Cooper Country Club offers perhaps the most scenic round of golf in the area. Set amid majestic pines and native foliage, this well-conditioned George Cobb layout will test every shot in your bag with its series of beautiful doglegs, strategic bunkering and challenging par 3s. You are certain to enjoy the magnificently designed risk-reward par 5s and the course’s elevation changes.

Like it's sister course, Lake Marion Golf Club, Santee Cooper Country Club features Miniverde Bermudagrass greens. Make more putts than ever on these amazing surfaces!

LAKE MARION GOLF VILLAS

In spring 2016 the ever-popular Golf Villas were outfitted with new furniture and HDTVs. Each of these 24 units averages 1250 sq. ft. and allows easy one-level access to all amenities and living space, with a choice of ground floor or second floor entry. Guests enjoy two bedrooms, with four full beds, two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, outdoor patio, three televisions with satellite TV featuring 160 channels with HD options, complimentary WiFi service, an in-unit washer and dryer and a conveniently-located shared charcoal grilling station.

LAKE MARION GOLF TOWNHOUSES

Due to the overwhelming demand for quality on-course lodging in the area, 10 new Lake Marion Golf Townhouses were added in mid-2016, bringing the total number of units available for your next golf vacation stay to 34. Like the original Golf Villas the luxurious, new Golf Townhouses are located along the fairways of Lake Marion Golf Course and within walking distance of the lighted driving range and Palmetto Traverse. These spacious units average 1500 sq. ft. each and feature two bedrooms with four extended full beds, two bathrooms, an over-sized fully-equipped kitchen, outdoor patio, three televisions with satellite TV featuring 160 channels with HD options, complimentary WiFi service, washer and dryer (in 6 of 10 townhouses), daily towel service, and access to a shared grilling station. Each unit has two levels, all with ground entry. The second bedroom and bath are located upstairs.

Villa and Townhouse guests enjoy exclusive access to the outdoor swimming pool (open seasonally) and use of the Hospitality Clubhouse featuring gathering space for groups of 16-48 complete with a kitchen area, flat screen TV and expansive scoreboards.

Putting Green - Palmetto Traverse

Opened August 2019, the Palmetto Traverse putting course is a 35,000 square foot green designed for wild fun, with putts as long as 260 feet possible and over some of the most varied terrain you will ever see in a putting surface. The design is based on the Himalayas putting course at St. Andrews and designed by golf course architect and Donald Ross restoration specialist Kris Spence.

The complex — which was constructed using USGA sub-surface drainage and rootzone, and topped with a TifEagle Ultradwarf surface — also includes a pair of small bunkers within the surface area and a small central grassy island with a sitting area and landscaping. The internal contours include plateaus, terraces, swales, rolls, valleys, spines, and slopes that will provide abundant variety and challenging fun for players of all abilities – from beginners to the most seasoned golfers.
