Description
Shadow Mountain Golf Club, a semi-private Palm Desert golf course, was designed by the legendary golfer, Gene Sarazen. It was the first Palm Desert golf course when it opened in March 1958. The golf club offers affordable public play, and a variety of golf memberships and lessons. Shadow Mountain Golf Club is, once again, reunited with the adjacent Shadow Mountain Resort & Club opening opportunities to stay and play for out of town guests.
Built to test but not overtax golfers, the par 70 Palm Desert golf course is one of few in the desert that can still be walked. The course challenges golfers of all abilities and rewards golfers who shape their shots and use their head more than their driver. With over 700 mature palm trees, the fairways are well defined and the challenging greens are protected by well placed sand bunkers. Tucked in the foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains of south Palm Desert, Shadow Mountain Golf Club is protected from the winds that plague many desert golf courses.
