Golf Course Information

Description

Second oldest golf course in Brown County. Established in 1931 as a 9 hole private course expanding to 18 holes in 1937. In the mid-to-late 60's the state of Wisconsin looked to expand their college and university system and working with local leaders chose the Shorewood site for the new Green Bay campus. Fritz Shaller then redesigned the course to 9 holes using the mostly wooded, oak savannah forest section for play.

Today the course stretches close to 2800 yards requiring targeted and strategic play on nearly every shot. The greens are average size and various sand bunker and water hazards are sprinkled throughout the course. Most every hole requires a shot into the green without going long.

Shorewood is owned and self-operated by the state of Wisconsin through the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The staff pride themselves on providing great service and care for this unique state asset. The affiliation with UW-Green Bay includes hiring many part-time college students to staff the pro shop, restaurant, and grounds operations under the direction of a director and superintendent.

We strive to provide exceptional support for outings and suggest outing organizers consider the simplicity of hold 9 hole golf outings at Shorewood. We have 24 riding cars in stock with access to more to easily accommodate outing group up to 80 golfers.
