Golf Course Information
Description
Silvies Valley Ranch, founded in 1883, is an ecologically sustainable Western livestock ranch with abundant herds of healthy wildlife, cattle and goats. Silvies sets the standard for sustainable ranching and environmental practices. Made up of 150,000 acres, the property is home to mountain meadows, Ponderosa Pine forest, the Silvies River, and 12 other named creeks and drainages.
Silvies Valley Ranch is a boutique 46-room eco-resort complete with luxurious accommodations, fine dining, a conference center, full-service fitness center and spa. The property offers an award-winning golf experience for players of all skill levels, with two reversible 18-hole courses – the Hankins and Craddock Courses - McVeigh's Gauntlet, a stunning 7-hole ridge course, and Chief Egan, a mountain meadow 9-hole par-3 course. Merging lodge and spa amenities with an amazing, diverse golf experience, intertwined with an authentic Western ranch, Silvies Valley Ranch is the ultimate retreat. Conde Nast has placed Silvies on their Top 10 List of Resorts in the USA. Golf Magazine awarded Silvies with the honor of being the #3 Family Resort in the country. The championship courses play only 60 golfers per day for a completely privatized and relaxed golf experience.
The course direction is reversed each day to create a different layout with a variety of pin placements and tee box options, creating thousands of unique rounds. While the course is free of water hazards, there are over a hundred bunkers incorporated into the course design.
Like designers of old, Dan also led the team that actually built the courses every day and he, himself, made every design decision, no matter how small. The Campbell Family provided the place, the water, the equipment, and the resources.
Silvies is also known for world famous Goat Caddies that are resourceful in playing our walkable Chief Egan and Mcveigh's gauntlet courses.
