Conquer the City of Wichita's Five Municipal Golf Courses

By Don Kriefall

Wichita showcases some of the most beautiful municipal courses in the midwest. A trip to the area is not complete without bringing your sticks and playing one of the area courses.

Auburn Hills Golf Course
The newest City course, Auburn Hills, opened for play on May 24, 2001. This Perry Dye designed course is one of the finest municipal courses in the region. It offers a combination of play through scenic wetlands areas and corridor golf through a new upscale residential development.

L.W. Clapp Golf Course
The L.W. Clapp course, located in the near southeast area of Wichita, is the smallest course, occupying 95 acres. The tight layout, coupled with a creek wandering through the course, create many challenging holes. The 70 par course measures 6,087 yards, and hosts around 43,000 rounds annually.
